Also, if you want good damage all around for griffs, use Spiteful Spirit - not considered AoE damage, and is a great spell ... even though the damage radius is not quite as large as balth ... just place it on more than one griffon and watch the splash damage!

Your build for farming Griffons is OK. However since the update, AoE skills/spells makes your enemies scatter after being hit consecutively with those kinds of skills/spells. In your build it would be Balthazar's Aura, Symbol of Wrath and Zealot's Fire. The trick here is when they scatter, don't follow, stay where you are and you'd noticed they comeback at you again. Just keep doing this until you finish them all of. Since the update it just made it slower to kill them buggers but eventually you would be able to farm them still.

Ideal build for a monk imho

HOly strike
Shield of Judgment
zealot's fire
healing breeze
protective spirit
mending
balths spirit (the one that regens energy when you get hit)
and either another smite spell (aoe is good) or if you're with someoen take a resurrection type spell.

This build worked good for both my 55 monk and my 220 hitpoint monk

Balthazars aura is still very effective and you can still get them into 1 group. Use shield of judgment for your elite because it knocks them down which allows a few extra hits from balthazars aura. To group all of them together just aggro the first couple groups then run to the others, the first groups will start to run back and you will have to run back and forth a few times but it can be done.
